The book has an ample number of worked-out examples, a few of them new, enabling the student to use this text as a self-study aid. Presents the introductory theory and applications of Maxwell’s equations to electromagnetic field problems. Carl Theodore Adolf Johnk. From inside the book.
Engineering Electromagnetic Fields and Waves
Unlike other texts, Maxwell’s equations and the associated vector mathematics are developed early in the work, allowing readers to apply them at the outset. Some changes and additions have been incorporated and in its present revised form the text is suitable for either a two-term electromagnetic fields and wave-transmission sequence or a more limited one-term treatment.
The following chapters cover static and quasi-static electric and magnetic fields, wave reflection and transmission at plane boundaries, the Poynting power theorem, rectangular waveguide mode theory, transmission lines, and an introduction to the properties of linear antennas and aperture antennas.
