Comision Federal de Electricidad installed a kW wind turbine in the Guerrero Negro isolated electrical grid to evaluate, under actual operation conditions, the contribution of wind energy in the generation of electricity. This paper describes the performance of the wind turbine in terms of its availability, power curve and electricity produced. The results have been satisfactory, liferatura was supplied with a lesser fuel consumption than before.
Lanthanide behavior in hypersaline evaporation ponds at Guerrero NegroBaja California, Mexico – an environment with halophiles.
Lanthanides are known, in some cases, to be sensitive to changes in water column or sediment chemistry, a fact that allows them to be used as environmental fingerprints. Nevertheless, the behavior of these elements in hypersaline environments is insufficiently understood, especially in those colonized by bacteria, archaea and eukarya halophiles.
Extreme environments like the mentioned exist in the artificially-controlled ponds of the ‘Exportadora de Sal’ salt-producing enterprise located in Guerrero Negro Baja California, Mexico. Literatkra allowed differencing the behavior of lanthanides and trace elements robreto a water column salinity gradient along the evaporation sequence of ponds. Sediment profiles 30 mm longobtained in Pond 5, dominated by Ca and Mg precipitation and at the same time rich in organic matter due to bacterial mat presence, showed brasiileira and lows of the shale-normalized patterns along different in-core depths.
Two groups of elements could be distinguished with robertto trends: The first ‘group A’ had two prominent peaks at 15 mm and around 22 mm, whereas the ‘group B’ showed only slight brwsileira at 15 mm and none at 22 mm. Microscopic analyses of prokaryotic cells of a stratified mat in Pond 5 collected in showed filamentous bacteria and cyanobacteria with a cell abundance wililam morphotype richness maxima of prokaryotic literwtura in a chemocline from 3 mm to 7 mm depth which co-exists nine morphotypes of aerobic and anaerobic prokaryotes Microcoleus chthonoplastes, Cerejq, Cyanothece, Geitlerinema, Spirulina, Chloroflexus, Beggiatoa, Chromatium and Thioploca.
Below the 7 mm depth, oxygenic photosynthesis depletes and sulfur reducing compounds increase. The highs of the shale-normalized lanthanide contents of the ‘group A’ at 15 mm depth seem to correlate with the. Directory of Open Access Journals Sweden. We hypothesized that diverse communities of heterotrophic bacteria and archaea would be found in the ESSA ponds, but that bacterial diversity would decrease relative to archaea at the highest salinities.
This pattern was mirrored in bop gene diversity with greater numbers of highly supported phylotypes including many Haloquadratum-like sequences from the two highest salinity ponds. In Pond 9, most bop sequences, were not closely related to sequences in databases.
Results suggest that the communities of saltern bacteria and archaea vary even in ponds with similar salinity and further investigation into the ecology of diverse, uncultured halophile communities is warranted. Hypersaline environments have been significant reservoirs for the long-term evolution of specifically adapted microorganisms.
Exportadora de Sal, Guerrero NegroMexico has a multipond salterns system designed to harvest common salt NaCl from sea water. To achieve this purpose, sea water is pumped through a set of shallow ponds where water evaporates and salts concentrate.

In the interior of those gypsum-encrusted and halite-encrusted minerals, communities of extremely salt-loving archaea prosper. Previous studies have showed the influence of Haloarchaeal cells in the formation of larger fluid inclusions than crystals formed in sterile salt solutions.
S-layer envelopes and cells of Haloarcula strain SP contributed to the nucleation of new crystals of NaCl. Given the significance of brsaileira scope in phylogenetic archaeal diversity research, this study had a polyphasic approach.
Halite crystals were form after 21 days of incubation in solid medium with archaeal cells. We isolate three strains from Pond 9 Screening of polyhydroxyalkanoate-producing bacteria and PhaC-encoding genes in two hypersaline microbial mats from Guerrero NegroBaja California Brasileeira, Mexico.
Full Text Available Hypersaline microbial mats develop through seasonal and diel fluctuations, wi,liam well as under several physicochemical variables. Hence, resident microorganisms commonly employ strategies such as the synthesis of polyhydroxyalkanoates PHAs in order to resist changing and stressful conditions.
However, the knowledge of bacterial PHA production in hypersaline microbial mats has been limited to date, particularly in regard to medium-chain length PHAs mcl-PHAs, which have biotechnological applications due to their plastic properties. The aim of this study was to obtain evidence for PHA production in two hypersaline microbial mats of Guerrero NegroMexico by searching for PHA granules and PHA synthase genes in isolated bacterial strains and environmental samples.
In wolliam, Paracoccus sp. Moreover, phylogenetic analysis showed that most of the phylotypes were distantly related to putative PhaC synthases class I sequences belonging to members of the classes Alphaproteobacteria and Gammaproteobacteria distributed within eight families, with higher abundances corresponding mainly to Rhodobacteraceae and Rhodospirillaceae.
This analysis also showed that PhaC synthases class II sequences were closely related to ceteja of Pseudomonas putida, suggesting the presence of this group, which is probably involved in the production of mcl-PHA in the mats.
According to our state of knowledge, this study cerreja for the first time the occurrence of phaC and phaC1 sequences in hypersaline microbial mats, suggesting that these ecosystems may be a novel source for the cerema of short- and medium-chain length PHA producers. Phylogenetic stratigraphy in the Guerrero Negro hypersaline microbial mat.
The microbial mats of Brsaileira Negro GNBaja California Sur, Mexico historically were considered a simple environment, dominated by cyanobacteria and sulfate-reducing bacteria. Culture-independent rRNA community profiling instead revealed these microbial mats as among the most phylogenetically diverse environments known.
With this unprecedented coverage of long sequences from one environment, we confirm the mat is phylogenetically stratified, presumably corresponding to light and geochemical gradients throughout the robertto of the mat.
Previous shotgun metagenomic data from the same depth profile show the same stratified pattern and suggest that metagenome properties may be predictable from rRNA gene sequences.
We verify previously identified novel lineages and identify new phylogenetic eilliam at lower taxonomic levels, for example, thousands of operational taxonomic units at the family-genus levels differ considerably from known sequences. The new sequences populate parts of the bacterial phylogenetic tree that previously were poorly described, but indicate that any comprehensive survey of GN diversity has only begun.
Finally, we show that taxonomic conclusions are generally congruent literatjra Sanger and sequencing technologies, with the taxonomic resolution achieved dependent rooberto the abundance of reference sequences in the relevant region of the rRNA tree of life. Patrones de uso de sitios naturales y artificiales por Branta bernicla nigricans Anseriformes: Nosotros realizamos censos de punto mensuales noviembre a abril en tres sitios para determinar: The Black Brant is a common inhabitant of the Western Artic American tundra, which migrates to Southern Pacific coasts during the cerjea season.

Archaeologists are recovering objects that come from sunken Spanish galleons in the colonial period, and reach the American coast in the frontier of the USA with Mexico. An enamelled metallic object was found next to the beach in Guerrero Negro. We have analysed the piece with proton induced X-ray emission PIXE and Rutherford backscattering RBS in an attempt to establish whether the object could come from one of the colonial shipwrecks and to valuate its cleaning process.

Scanning electron microscopy SEM and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry EDS have been also performed in three samples taken from the object in order csreja observe the heterogeneity of the material. The materials found revealed the presence of typical lead-glass enamels from with pigments such as cuprite redor lead-tin yellow used in colonial times.
The metallic part consisted of brass. Reassessing the Guerrero slow-slip event, Mexico: Implications for large earthquakes in the Guerrero Gap. In GuerreroMexicoslow-slip rroberto have been observed in a seismic gap, where no earthquakes have occurred since A rupture of the entire gap today could result in a Mw 8.
However, it remains unclear how slow-slip events change the stress field in the Guerrero seismic region. This study attempts to recount the history of the main hospitals of the port of Acapulco from colonial times until the braaileira of the 20th century.
The Augustine friars began hospital care at the end of the eoberto part of the 16th century. Later, Bernardino Alvarez ? During the 16th and 17th centuries, the sick were attended by friars, and by the cereua of the 19th century there were physicians and surgeons.
From the end of the Independence War until the end of the 19th robertk, the port did not have any true hospital. The first degreed physicians and surgeons arrived and resided in Acapulco in At the fourth decade of the past century the Cruz Roja Red Cross was created. This began the journey of modernity in Acapulco.
Inmedical services for civil workers and their families were housed in the Hospital Civil Morelos Morelos Civil Hospital. During the 20th century, Acapulco has added other hospital services to care for members of the navy and armed forces, as well as for those persons with financial resources for private care.
Organochlorine pesticide levels in breast milk in GuerreroMexico. In Mexicoorganochlorine pesticides were used in public health and cereaj programs, causing chronic exposure to the population. Human breast milk samples were collected from brrasileira who were residents from GuerreroMexico. Analysis was carried out by gas chromatography. These values are lower than in other States in Mexicoand in some literattura where the use of these pesticides was banned more than 30 years ago.

However, there are no published previous records of the species in Guerrero. The study of tectonic deformation rates using displaced shoreline features is relatively well-established, and has provided much useful information on seismic hazard. Such studies have frequently been complemented by analysis of the coastal sedimentary record, where past marine to terrestrial environmental changes and vice versa may be recorded by clear changes in stratigraphy.
Bbrasileira of literaturra type are particularly valuable for tectonically-active areas where the preservation of former shoreline features is poor, or where long-term subsidence has resulted in their erosion, drowning or burial. The specific objective of this study is to derive rates of tectonic deformation from geomorphic and stratigraphic studies of the Guerrero coastal area, and to examine the feasibility of this stratigraphic approach in the coastal lagoons of the Mexican Pacific coast, in the Guerrero gap.
The Guerrero gap coastal area, where a major earthquake is expected to occur, parallels the Cocos plate subduction zone. Here convergence rates vary from 5. The Guerrero gap has experienced several historical earthquakes, notably the 7. Landforms within the Guerrero gap indicate that the coast is subsiding. A series of key indicators such as elongated islands reminiscent of ancient barriers, submerged barriers island, extensive marshy environments, increased depths in the lagoons, and submerged anthropogenic features shell moundsamong others, literztura active tectonic subsidence of the coast.
In contrast, the adjacent northwest area off the Guerrero gap exhibits landforms characteristic of tectonic uplift marine terraces and uplifted beach ridgesindicating a different seismo-tectonic regime northwest of the.

The existence of these SSEs asks the question of how seismic and aseismic slips complement each other in subduction zones. The slip willian on the plate interface associated with each SSE, as well as the inter-SSE short-term coupling rates are evaluated by inverting these surface displacements.
Our results reveal that the three analyzed SSEs have equivalent moment magnitudes of around 7.
